Enigmas

Do you believe in telepathy, to know what the other is thinking about without the least interaction between one another?
Or look-alikes, where someone who looks the same as you exists but in a different place in the world?
What about deja vu, foreseeing something and experiencing it before it even happens?
And the soulmate, a mostly romantic idea of feeling attracted to, or better being created for, a certain person with complete mental and spiritual affinity?
Reaching the concept of infinity, where ends have no ends and limits are actually limitless?
An enigma of the human mind, and a world never void of its mysteries...

Press Your Keyboard's Keys!

Never "Escape" from your problems or worries, but always take "Control" of yourself and your surroundings .. "Delete" the chains that curb your abilities, and "Insert" faith and hope into your heart .. Before you "Shift" from one decision to another, make sure that you have a good "Alt"ernative ... And when you feel that you reached the "End" of the road, "Enter" through the bushes with all your power, for "Home" lies directly behind them.

Imprisonment

Have you ever felt imprisoned, in a cage made of thin air
The cage does not exist, yet you are still entrapped in there
Feeling too much pressure, more than you can ever bear
Surrounded by the people, but unheard and unseen, no one can dare!
A disease of the modern age, only opposed by those who might care!

All Sorts of Beauty

Beauty .. That permanently sought sense of pleasure and deep satisfaction that overwhelms one's perception. That encouraging quest for excellence in a world suffering from mediocrity. That hopeful search for perfection to cover one's inescapable imperfection. That charming reaction that happens between a human being and something .. or someone .. real or imaginary .. abstract or concrete.
Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, a well-known saying. Some times relative, other times absolute. But at all times, it depends on you: the beholder.

Beauty of the body or beauty of the mind or beauty of the soul?? A difficult choice, isn't it?!

Beauty of the body is the first your eyes could fall upon. It's natural, for the human being always gives the lead to his sensual dependence. Always trusts his senses (though are deceiving most of the time!). However, despite the fact that such physical beauty could be the favorite to the majority, it is the most distracting and the least lasting sort of beauty. It takes its temporal time and then disappears behind hills of wrinkles and fragility.

Beauty of the mind is the next on the list. After the human being removes that sensual dust away from his eyes, he sees a higher sort of beauty: mental beauty. Unlike physical beauty, this one lasts with you for a lifetime. Yet, it's changeable. As one goes on living, he keeps on being struck with the violent waves of the angry sea of life. So to keep such beauty alive, you need to be strong enough, clinging hard to properly based foundations, or it will face the ugly fate of corrosion.

Finally comes the beauty of the soul. The highest sort of all beauty. This one is just eternal. It follows you through all your life and then stays even after your life time halts. Unfortunately, not everyone can see it. Not everyone can reach it. And if you have such spiritual beauty, if you can see it in the people around you, and if the people around you can see it in you, then there is nothing else to seek.

So just look around and you'll see all sorts of beauty. Fortunately, you will not have to choose from them, for they are all present in everything in your way. They are all present in everything ..  including you.

The House of Mirrors

A young man, with a wearied heart and a troubled mind, walking across the emptiness. Living in a virtual world. He is trying to break through those imaginary chains. Trying to make his way out to the real world. "I seem to be lost in a house of mirrors!" Imprisoned in a matrix of his own thoughts. An endless maze of inner feelings.
Lots of self-reflections. Lots of doors. Lots of keys. Though all are one!
"I know the path out like the back of my hand." Or that is what he thinks. So he tries to step forward. But he crashes into a wall. Painful it is, depressing as well. "Like I came in, there must be a way out .. This can't be a dead end!" So he tries again. He keeps on trying and trying. It became his only dream, his only vision. It became his only goal, or maybe his only choice.

However, he starts to feel weak and tired. Unintentionally, he looks at a mirror in front of him. Strangely enough, he realizes that he never really focused on his facial features before. He has this dazzled look of someone who seems to be seeing himself for the first time. The brilliant fabric of his countenance. The minute details of his face that are so accurately and masterfully crafted. "Is it myself? Or maybe someone else!"

They say that one's eyes are the gates to his inner soul. They reflect  not only what's in front of you, but what's inside you as well. Gates to the castle of one's face. "How didn't I notice that before?!" He just needed one attentive closer look to realize that there are no mirrors. The mirrors are inside him. There is only one door, only one key, only one way, and only one self. He found he has been living in a world of his dreams! Running away from the miserable and fallen cage of reality to imprison himself in another cage woven from the fine threads of the cheerful and idealistic illusions of the unreal!

So he raises his hand ahead of him like someone who senses his way through darkness. And what darkness! The sunbeams are starting to appear in the horizon ... The clouds are moving aside, the fogs are torn apart. And finally, the gates are open.

Let It Rain

Let the rain pour hard, let its blessing be carried in the gust
Let the beauty of the world appear, sweeping away all the dust
Let the fake shine disappear, showing its reality of nothing but rust
Let the droplets chant Your Name, every fine granule in the earth's crust

Just Thoughts...

  • What makes your eyes shine?? Money, fame, lust, power, even food?? It's puzzling how a man can fall so easily for one of these although everything around him already warns him about them .. They make the eyes shine so much to the extent that, unless controlled by wisdom and faith, one can get blinded and driven so quickly to the gates of hell .. The test is clear and the questions are already known, but still it is hard for many to get at least a 'pass'! ... It's true that the 'flesh is weak', but still there are several ways to make it a little stronger, aren't there?
  • If Man's mission in this life is to pray for the Creator, to work, to preserve the Earth, and to ensure the existence of his kind, how can life be that complicated? Why is it so hard to maintain the 4 objectives intact? People forget about their Creator, they hate working, they destroy the Earth, and they destroy themselves! If life is a big exam, with the questions already known, why is it hard to find their answers?
  • Every person has this self-image in his mind about himself and about the world that he tries so hard to maintain and convey to others. It's true that you cannot see from a person but the image he wants you to see, which is, ironically enough, almost always not 100% sincere! The eye does not see but what it sensually perceives, and that's why, like all senses, it is imperfect, and it can be tricked and manipulated so easily, and as such it cannot be the basis of any rational decision or judgement!!
  • It's a pity how the word 'friendship' is abused and undervalued in this virtual social network! ... You could have like a 1000 friends on your list, but you'll realize that actually a couple of them are your enemies, some of them have some interest in you, some don't really know who you are, some find you a good method of entertainment and pass-time, and even some add you just for the sake of adding like collecting stamps, finding yourself not having a single real true 'friend'!!
  • Have you ever sat on a wet grassy hill at the countryside at night, watching the dazzling live painting of the moon and stars, smelling the breathtaking scent of the fresh breeze, listening to the glorious orchestra of the winds and the night insects, touching the cheerful tickles of the grass and the wet soil, and feeling the Mighty Greatness of the Creator? An all-senses fulfilling experience.
  • There is a widespread problem in balance and common sense! If you are kind, you are seen as naive and prone to be used .. If you are friendly, you are seen as trivial and prone to be ridiculed .. If you are religious, you are seen as an extremist and prone to be categorized .. If you have good morals, you are seen as a pretender and prone to be accused .. If you are good looking, you are seen as shallow and prone to be misconceived .. If you get closer and talk, you are seen as a parasite and they ask you to stay away .. And if you stay away and shut up, you are seen as arrogant and they wonder why you are not talking to them!!
  • As simple as they might appear, yet they could be the most difficult questions you'd ever have to answer (that's if you find an answer to them from the first place!), questions about your identity and your purpose in life:Who are you? .. and What do you want? It's dazzling how such simple 2 questions which are formed of even simpler 6 words can define one's existence!

Old Days

Looking back at those old days, when the night was not that peaceful, although it had the same dead calmness, freezing cold, and shivering breaths .. When the only concern was how to make one's heart never stop pumping, whether that meant blood or even hope .. When memories were the most precious thing one can possess .. "Some day you'll look back at these days and just smile!" he said .. A smile of accomplishment, or maybe deliverance!

A Wintry Day

Dark roads, shivering shadows, numb faces, and frozen limbs
Feeling the death of the falling leaves, feeling the sadness of its trees
Feeling the tears of the mourning skies, feeling the rage of the whirlwinds
Feeling .. Well, feeling no more!
For the world is dressed in gray, a solace for a wintry day.

Count Your Blessings

Do you need to get lost in a desert to appreciate the blessing of water?
And to spend a night outside in the bone-eating cold to appreciate the blessing of the warmth of home?
And to travel abroad for some time to appreciate the blessing of the family?
And to get seriously ill to appreciate the blessing of health?
And to get imprisoned by some sort of physical or even mental prison to appreciate the blessing of freedom?
And to get indulged in sin till you are about to fall off its cliff to appreciate the blessing of prayers?
And, after all, do you have to always be reminded to appreciate the blessings you already have and to never take them for granted?!
Count your blessings, for you will find they are actually countless...

Faces

Whatever you feel just keep it inside!
How many faces will you have to hide?
Pleasures remain,
but so does the pain
When words become wordless, worthless to sustain
And you wait hopefully for the fall of the rain
To nestle your running tears, but in vain
For the world is no shelter, as it keeps on spinning
One day you're at its end, the other you're at the very beginning!

Can You See the Light?

The power is down. Lights are off. With or without glasses, it doesn't make a difference. So you throw your glasses away, but gently, fearing they will break, or else it will remain dark for you even after the lights come back. Something urges you to sit on your bed by the window and look outside to see the world. The vision is blurry but it's not only you this time. You see these far black blurry buildings, all covered by the light of the dark night sky. You look a little upwards. You see this so bright star. It keeps on twinkling and blinking as if it's sending a message that nobody could understand .. Nobody but you.

Suddenly a slightly cold fresh night breeze hits you. It carries with it the far voice of the call for prayers. The call for praising God for the blessings He gave us. And then for no known reason you remember the girl you love. You remember her kind heart, her angelic face, her lovely smile. Your love to her even makes the memory more vivid, more lively. Exchanging smiles that carry a thousand meanings, but only one feeling, the best feeling ever, the world is yours: one existence, one heart, one soul. She's really lucky; you love her so much. And if she loves you back the same way .. Well .. You're the luckiest man on Earth. But as all the good moments, they take their time and then simply fade away. But you really don't feel bad about it. "Till we meet again."

Unexpectedly, a whirlwind of thoughts appear and you swivel amidst of it. Your family, your work, your studies, your responsibilities: your life. Yet life is a big test, and you never failed one. The children in the streets cheer: "The lights come back!" But really, did the lights go anywhere?! Lights have been always within, and will always be.

Follow the Bread Crumbs

///It is said that life works in mysterious ways. Sometimes you feel you understand it all. You know why things happened, happen, and will happen. You can realize that incomprehensible link between the past, the present, and the future. You even find a way to solve that enigma of life. That riddle of human relations. That puzzle of the universe. Yet, that's an illusion....

///Other times you feel totally lost. You can see no road to walk upon, no reason to live for, no light to follow. The past, the present, the future .. Just time passing by. Just fiddling routine. Just ticks of an old rusty clock. Ticks that get slower and slower by time till an ultimate stop. Till one last sound and then absolute tranquility. You don't sense the meaning of life, you don't understand others, and you don't even know yourself. Yet, that's another illusion....

///Life and death, they are always there. Always connected. Always around you. You'll be amazed to know how many times you actually experienced death while you are technically alive. When you sleep, when you sneeze, when you feel so helpless, when you surrender to sadness and, worse, to hatred, and when you lose faith in yourself and, most importantly, in God. How many times do you think you died in your life?*

///What about going the other way round? How many times you actually sensed that brilliant glare of life inside you? When you enjoy the beauty of nature, when you feel so strong and healthy, when you feel loved and cared about, when you succeed, when you get into an adventure that makes a rush of blood into your head, when you believe in the capabilities, the ones you know and don't know about, inside you, and when you pray and sense that satisfaction of having God as your everafter sustenance and support.* Still in illusion??

///We are living in the story of Hansel and Gretel, with the worldly matters luring us to fall from their cliff just like that cannibalistic witch who was luring those pure 2 children to her candy-coated blood-filled hut. The human being is born with purity and innocence and good will. That's his natural birth. However, he is easily distracted and he gets into oblivion. That's his natural birth too. Mercifully, and also like Hansel and Gretel's, bread crumbs keep on falling into our way all the time. Lots of cues and clues that are so obvious to the heart before the eyes, to the soul before the mind. All you have to do is follow them and you'll reach home safely.*So no room for illusion, just common sense. For life is no mystery, it is so obvious to the beholder. But it needs not only vision, but also prevision.
